In fact, the current news related to global rainfall explain that the alteration of rainfall rate todays is affected by the effect of the gravitation of the earth and the moon. The scientist revealed that when a bad moon rising, it will create a wetter day. The gravitation of the moon or it is also called lunar gravitation will reduce the global rainfall.

The lunar gravitation trigger atmospheric tides. Based on a paper in Geophysical Research Letter, the atmospheric tides happens when the moon facing the opposite end of the Earth. Scientist found that this condition would increase the atmospheric pressure and it leads to the atmospheric tides that alter the precipitation or rainfall rate. The current geophysical research shows that that this season is when the precipitation rates decreased most in the last 15 years due to the lunar gravitation. The science in the new reported that the rainfall at the present is pretty tiny. The alteration is about one micrometer per hour.

Tsubasa Kohyama, a scientist from University of Washington in Seattle who is an expert on atmospheric science, even states that we do not need to bring an umbrella when the moon is rising. Kohyama explains that the lunar gravitation affects the ocean tides and the atmospheric tides at the same time. This condition leads more air to gather and increase the atmospheric pressure that stop the evaporation.

The position of the moon changes over time and it has such kind period and cycle. In between the end of 2015 up to the beginning of 2016 the moon is in the perfect position where its gravity affect the atmospheric and oceanic tides. This situation leads the alteration of rain precipitation and humidity that decrease the rainfall and increase the possibility of hurricane in sub-tropical area.
