General Rules To Follow When Travelling In Bali
For many years Bali has been known as the most popular tourist destination in Indonesia. Each and every year hundred or even thousands of people come to visit this island of God to enjoy its panoramic views and also its culture. The majority of people in Bali are Hindu, which is a little bit different from other city in Indonesia. But the difference is one thing that makes Bali even more attractive to see.
While in Bali, there are general rules that people should follow to make sure they have great time in Bali and here are some of those:
- Prepare for the crowd. Since Bali is a very popular tourist destination, people who come to this island should prepare themselves for the crowd. In some places it can be pretty overwhelming so for those who are looking for solitude need to go somewhere else such as the west coast and north coast area in Bali.
- Stray animals on the street. Bali is not only crowded with tourist, but in some places it also has lots of stray and even wild animals such as monkey and dogs that roam the street. Be very careful with the animals because it is unusual for people get infected by rabies and other deadly disease from the animal.
- Bali belly myth. Most people will be warned to not drink local water and instead of drinking bottle water, because it can lead to some health issue because the hygiene is still in questioned. But that is long time ago and the standard hygiene today is so much better than before. Still, people need to practice common sense when they want to consume something. For those who still in doubt about it, don’t buy plastic bottle water, instead buy stainless steel bottle and refill it from trustable source by paying small amount of fee. This simple action will help to reduce the number of plastic bottle waste in Bali.
- Religious custom. Bali is popular for many things including its ability to stick to their religion, Hindu. Anyone who comes to Bali must know about it and respect it. Respect the local ceremony that was taken place and dress properly especially when entering religious places such as temple.
People who are going to travel to any places in the world need to learn the local custom that could be so different from what people used to deal with. The same thing applies in Bali and those who can follow those general rules will be able to enjoy their vacation much better.
